Never leave Vsync off even on a Gsync/Gsync compatible display as this can cause screen tearing on some games regardless of VRR being on.īy default, Fallout 76 does not have Gsync support enabled. If you turn Vsync off be sure to enable it via your Nvidia Control Panel. You DO NOT need to set this file to "Read Only". Leave iPresentInterval on 1 for Vsync On, or 0 for Vsync Off. You also need to change your Fallout76prefs.ini so that it is set to Fullscreen= 1 Borderless = 0 as well. This improved my FPS drops from 65-138 capped in Flatwoods to 90-138 capped. Now, if it overwrites, it will overwrite with the proper saved setting for Fullscreen. The game would change to Borderless on every launch, and if it was on Read Only it would simply delete the file and load the default file from the game folder. After you make these changes right click on the Fallout76.ini, go to properties and set it to "Read Only". In the Fallout 76.ini change the same values. Then, go to your Documents and open Fallout 76. Go into this and change to Fullscreen only. To fix this, you need to do a couple things.įirst, go to your Steam installation folder and go to steamapps>common>fallout76 and find the Fallout76.ini file. ![]() In the Fallout76.ini in your documents folder, the game will overwrite this file everytime you launch the game, even if you set it to read only.
